Proposal Versions

Track changes and maintain version history.

Last updated: 8/26/2026•0 views

Proposal versions allow you to save snapshots of your proposal at different stages. This is useful for tracking progress, comparing different approaches, and reverting to previous versions if needed. Versioning is especially valuable when multiple team members are working on the same proposal.

How to use versions

  1. Click Save Version in the proposal editor header. This opens a dialog where you can enter a description of the changes in this version.
  2. Add a description of changes. For example, "Added case studies section" or "Revised pricing based on new estimates." Clear descriptions make it easy to find the right version later.
  3. View version history to compare or restore. Click the Versions button to see a list of all saved versions. For each version, you can see the date, author, and description. You can preview any version or restore it as the current version.

Versioning best practices

  • Save a version before making significant changes, such as restructuring sections or changing the pricing model.
  • Use descriptive version names. Instead of "Version 1," use "Initial draft with AI-generated content" or "Revised after team review."
  • Compare versions to see what changed. The version comparison feature highlights additions, deletions, and modifications between versions.
  • Restore a previous version if the current version is not working out. Restoring replaces the current content with the selected version, but you can always return to the most recent version.
  • Delete old versions that are no longer needed to keep the version history clean and manageable.

Collaboration and versions

When multiple team members are working on a proposal, versioning becomes even more important. Each team member can save versions with their changes, and the version history shows who made each change and when. This transparency helps prevent conflicts and ensures that everyone is working from the same understanding of the proposal.
